We want to tell the story as close to the sources as possible. From minute to minute and from day to day. In a hybrid of documentary and fiction style it is our wish that the audience, sooner or later will experience themselves in the closest possible contact with the people and the events that took place. In this context, it is not the aim of the film to tell people what to believe or think. However, it is our responsibility to ensure that the message is so obvious, that we leave with doubt or uncertainty that makes people confused about their own conclusions.

This is a story about the hunters who came to the archipelago of Svalbard in the 1950ies and -60ies to hunt seals and polar bears, for the trophies’ sake. Since then, the world has changed and we want the old timers to reflect together with us, on what they were once taking part in as trophy hunters in the arctic. We will trough fabulous and unique archive film, dive deep into this traditions and culture lost. The film will also take some of them them along on a voyage again. This time on a modern cruise ship, one of many around Svalbard, filled with today’s tourists, also trophy hunters, but of a very different kind. Dialogues between the past and today, shown trough dialogs, motion, nature and emotions will be the essence of this creative documentary.
