New exciting Barents TV
series in development! |
|
BTV (working title) will
be a TV-series conveying
knowledge about people,
societies and cultures
in the Arctic region. A
group of independent
filmmakers based in
Tromsø (Norway) invites
film and TV colleagues
from Russia, Sweden,
Finland and Norway, to
build networks and tell
stories from a local
point of view. Our goal
is to start production
in 2009 with the first 8
TV episodes including
new formats made for
internet and mobile
distribution.

FILM ARC meeting at FilmCamp |
|
The BTV teaser and
project was presented at
the meeting. A lot of
interest was expresssed for
the concept, from both
FILM ARC representatives
and the guests from
Sweden and Norway who attended
the meeting.
FILM ARC is an
interregional film
initiative set up by
four regional film funds
in the Nordic Region –
in the framework of
Cine-Regio - in order
to strengthen the
audiovisual industries
in Northern Sweden,
Finland and Norway. The
four regional film funds
behind FILM ARC are
Filmpool Nord, Film i
Västerbotten, POEM and
Filmcamp.

Barents Festival
Murmansk |
|
The Barents TV series
was recently presented
in Murmansk on the
Barents Festival by Zoia
Ravna, our Russian
coordinator for BTV. The
new teaser was shown for
the first time. The
feedback was good and
many professionals in
the Barents region are
interested in seeing
what possibilities this
project will bring of in
2009.
